Central Asia Part 7: Exploring the old Silk Road by train
Uzbekistan, that means blue tiles wherever you look and stunningly decorated mosques, mausoleums and madrasas. In addition, sand-colored domed bazaars, centuries-old hamams, inviting tea houses, mobile bread ovens, friendly people with hats and gold teeth and lots of sweet melons. We rush in the comfortable high-speed train along the cities of the old Silk Road and after all the adventures in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan we are now just normal tourists.

Central Asia Part 4: Trips from Osh and journey into the unknown to the Tajik border
We spend a few days in Osh and during this time we apply for a special permit at the tourism office in Bishkek to cross the border into Tajikistan. After a few days in the city, we want to explore the interesting surroundings and decide for a weekend trip to Uzbekistan, because the border is only 20 minutes away from the city.
